NANCY JASSI, MACP, REGISTERED PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Registered Provisional Psychologist
Accepting new clients, in English, Hindi or Punjabi
Nancy offers trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapy for women and couples, in English, Hindi, or Punjabi. If you have been looking for a therapist in Calgary who understands South Asian family life without needing it explained, this is that practice. Whether you are navigating anxiety, grief, self-esteem, relationship strain, the weight of family expectations, or a life transition that has left you unsure of who you are now, Nancy meets you where you are and works at your pace. She brings warmth, patience, and a collaborative approach to every session, and she understands the particular pressures of carrying two cultures, of being the one who holds the family together, and of finding it hard to ask for help.
Therapy in Punjabi and Hindi for women. Some things are easier to say in the language you grew up with. You can speak Punjabi, Hindi or English with Nancy, and switch between them whenever that feels more natural.
What women often bring to Nancy. The expectations placed on daughters, wives and daughters-in-law. Living with or caring for in-laws or ageing parents. A marriage where you feel unheard. Pressure about having children, or the adjustment after a baby. Loneliness after a move, or feeling caught between two cultures. Grief for someone far away. Anxiety or low mood that is hard to name at home.
Your privacy. What you share stays between you and Nancy. Nothing is shared with family members without your consent, except in the limited situations where the law requires it, which Nancy explains in your first session. Online sessions mean you can join from wherever you feel most private.
Couples and families. Couples sessions are available in Punjabi, Hindi or English, 50 or 80 minutes.
Therapy for seniors and their families. Older Punjabi and Hindi speaking women are often the last to be asked how they are doing. Nancy works with seniors on loneliness, health changes, the loss of a spouse and the strain of living across generations, and adult children can join a session where that helps.
Grief therapy in your own language. Mourning a parent in another country, a loss the family does not talk about, or a grief that arrived years late. In your first language, grief can be spoken rather than translated.
Credentials and registration. Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (#P9064), practising under the supervision of Eunice Peterson, R. Psych. Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (#11255650). Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP). Trauma-Informed Care Certificate, Alberta Health Services.
